kudzu
When people talk about green roofs, we doubt they mean the ones covered in kudzu. So, imagine our surprise when we read that kudzu may be an excellent source for ethanol production. It could produce about 270 gallons per acre of ethanol. Compare that to corn's yield of 210 to 320 gallons per acre and that kudzu has no planting, fertilizer or irrigation costs and it might not be a curse after all.

live
Pesticides, insecticides and herbicides are a part of everyday life, however many who use these products are unaware of their consequences on the environment and personal health. Dr Lisa Marie Chambers discusses how these toxins affect our environment, our homes, and our children.

eat
Before you sit down to eat that poached salmon, consider it's probably traveled at least 2700 miles meet you for dinner. Now, consider how far those gulf shrimp from the local farmer's market traveled. Probably only 100 miles. By choosing the shrimp, you'll be getting a fresher product. So, why not consider take the next step by accepting the eat local challenge?
